What is Parachute Games
The days are gone when the military were the sole users of parachutes. While they are still used by the military for their own purposes they are getting more commonly used for extreme sports and as games for children. People use parachute for different purposes now. Even a layperson can use it for leisure activities.
Maximum use is however for extreme sports where thrill seekers find it heavenly. Though this does not belong to the extreme category, sky diving is treated as another type of parachute games and sports. Olympics now has a whole lot of events involving parachute sports much to the delight of both participants and audience. Along with skateboarding and snowboarding, X games an event comprising of extreme sports now include these games also.
Children could also enjoy from the large range of parachute games. The children variations of the game mostly foster team work rather than outperforming another kid. There are many variants of these games for kids and some of the names read as follows: parashuffle, paraswap, parasight, paraseek, paraball, lucky 7, round the plughole, and shoe shuffle.
The scenario is different for adults though who would take the game to the extreme status. They do it not just for the associated thrill of it but to take them away far from the banality of every day life. There are many sites to engage in parachute sports with some resorts offer parasailing. There are also skydiving clubs that you can join to undergo training or you can choose to make tandem jumps and even get a skydiving course.
The two mild types of parachute sports are paragliding and parasailing where paragliding is competitive by nature and parasailing is done simply as a leisure activity. A free flying aircraft is the paraglider where you have to use your feet to get it started. Parasailing is where a person is towed behind a boat while being attached to a parasail. Though hazardous, paragliding is not as dangerous as some of the sports mentioned below.
One of the riskiest extreme sport is speed skydiving where the diver should take a straight 13000 feet jump from an aircraft. Here the skydiver speeds up during his vertical fall, with head first, on to a pre-set measuring area. The measuring zone begins from 8,850 feet up to 5,570 feet. Altimeters are attached to participants during their jump to measure their average speed as they go through the measuring zone.
The meaning of sky surfing is self explanatory. Board similar to snow boarding are tied to the feet of the skydiver which allows him or her to do various calisthenics in the sky. The sky diver may decide to land on the board itself or may throw off the board just before touching the ground. Skysurfing is no mean task and only skydivers with adequate experience indulge this sport.
When you jump off tall stationary structures they are called BASE (Buildings, Antennas, Spans (jumping off bridges), Earth (jumping off cliffs). This is perilous sport when the parachute does not pop open at the required moment. The spontaneity of reflex for the base jumpers is critical since they have hardly any altitude for a free fall. The chute should be used at the precise moment because any delay may lead to fatal injuries. The jumper ought to develop his skills in the art of chute packing ensuring that it can operate rightly at the right time and canopy control for ensuring a good landing. While parachute sports carry all the thrill and excitement, it has some inherent dangers too so to learn it, start at the basic level and get training from a professional skydiving course.
