How to Improve Your Backswing
Mastering your back swing is critical if you really want to have a great golfing experience. If you really want to play a good game of golf, this is skill is completely essential. You can still play without a perfect back swing but improving it will greatly improve your overall game just as much as mastering your putting. As you start to work on this area, it is worthwhile to remember that you are not just trying to improve on your power but also your form and distance.
Aligning with the ball, the right posture and good shoes would help you to improve your swing. Without a good sturdy posture, you are going to twist at the wrong moment and even potentially have huge problems with not being able to really grasp the club properly. What happens when all these things come together is that it spoils your attempt at a good back swing. Unless you have the right posture, you can not have a quick follow through to your swing.
A picture taken of yourself, whether by you or some one else can tell you whether you have the right stance or not. Once you have your picture, see it against the proper stance that has to be taken. Take a lesson on how to correct postures if this option is not suitable. To build upon your skills the right way, you need a good set of foundation skills. If you have the ability to work with a golf instructor this is going to be the best way since they can be much more honest with you about the flaws in your stance than you will be with yourself.
When you are sure that you have the right posture, look into the areas of problems with your grip. If you are overextending your grip, or even holding the club the wrong way you are going to have a bad backhand from the very beginning. To get the right back swing, it is mandatory to have a very good grasp of the club. Remember that it is impossible. Dramatic outcome can be expected if you simply shift the position of your hands by a small fraction.
Yet another important point of consideration to improve your back swing is to pull the club from the ball before it is lifted off the ground. Generally players make the mistake of doing both these acts of pulling and lifting the club at the same time. You not only hit the ball off center but it can damage the movement too. Remember to pull back the club before you lift it off the ground. This is really so simple to do. As soon as you consciously try to pull before lifting the club, your back swing talent would improve.
