Definition of Board of Control For Cricket in India

It is probably the alluring nature of the game, which has made cricket a household name across the world, and there are no indications of its popularity waning with time. Tournaments like the World cub and T-20 are blessed with an unlikely response. In world cricket, one of the most venerated squads is from India. Making its own style and beauty, Indian cricket has some of the most glorious players like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Sunil Gavaskar who have added great value to the squad.

Indian cricket is the great combination of national and regional cricket squads. Each state in India has its own regional cricket squads who compete with each other in tournaments like the Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy. To be chosen for the international level games, players from the regional cricket squads have to qualify and prove to be the best at the regional level. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the biggest cricket authority for India - it bears the obligation of selection of national squad and also undertake all other decisions regarding sponsorship and role determination of every player in national cricket team. Other than the home body called the BCCI, there are also region level cricket control governments that are in charge of supervising the participants at the state level, and also groom them for handling future and higher responsibilities. No doubt, these state level cricket authorities play a vital role in deciding future of national team - in fact our team has now get many young and energetic participants like Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh and Pathan with the effort of these region level governments only.

The Indian cricket team was established in 1932 as a test team, which was a point of great domestic honor, and this year the Indian squad played against England at Lords and proved their mettle at this game. After that day Indian participants never looked back and went on making and beating records. Plus, India won the cricket world cup in 1983 and T-20 world cup few months back this year with its initial test victory against England at Madras in 1952. Later on, that same year, the squad won initial test series, which was against Pakistan. That was actually an indescribable experience for an entire country and after their starting victories the team improved their game throughout the decade.

In 1971 the arrival of 1 day international cricket shaped a new dimension in the cricket world. To start with India was not very strong in ‘1 Day Internationals’, which ended in a continuous number of lost matches, therefore they did not manage to qualify for the second round in the first two cricket world cups. Every follower of the squad knows the true spirit and force, which the Indian cricket team possesses. Perhaps it is the warm wishes and the solid support, which the country people gave them, made the Indian squad win the world cup in 1983, which was such a reason for joy and celebration.
